yourself and a photograph. If we take any payments from you, we will do this securely and in
line with industry standards.
Special category data (sensitive information)
When you provide information through our site, you are in control of the type and amount of
information you provide. You may choose to provide information that may be classed as
‘special category data’ but this is not something we request you provide.
Special category data includes information about your health (mental or physical), your
racial or ethnic background, your sexuality, your political opinions, trade-union
memberships, or your religious or philosophical beliefs.
By using the forms on our site to contact a therapist, share personal information, or send us
any other information, you agree to us processing your information (including any special
category data you have provided) as is necessary for the service you've requested (for

records, as recommended by HMRC, are retained for a minimum period of six years after
the completion of the transactions, acts or operations to which they relate. These
requirements apply to manual and electronic records equally.
Information we receive from other sources:
If you’re a therapist applying to be listed on our directory, you will provide us with
personal information as part of your membership application form. Professional registration
will be validated or checked by AHTNetwork as part of the membership application process.
All members must consent to this validation to be allowed to join AHTNetwork.
Analytics services track and report on the use of our website, including who uses it. They
give us insights into how our customers use our products, which helps us to improve the
service we offer. We may get information from analytics services such as Google Analytics to
evaluate your use of our site, produce reports on things such as pages visited, time spent
on pages, and clicks on our Facebook posts or links, and collect and evaluate other
information relating to our site and use of the internet. The information we collect is
analyse and provide information to us. By visiting or using our site, you are agreeing to

need to give your personal information to the therapist you have chosen so they can provide
the service you’ve asked for. We do not use your personal information for any other
purpose, and we will always do our best to protect your information as set out in this

We will keep your personal information so we can:
- allow you to use our site;
- provide services to you;

the form as soon as the form has been received by the therapist.
For members of AHTNetwork, within 6 years of the last membership year, a member’s data
will be destroyed. It will cease to be publicly available on www.ahtnetwork.com at the end of the current
subscription period that the membership ceases or when the membership has been terminated
early. Where data is required to be held by us for longer than the period of 6 years, we
will put in place appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of
security appropriate to the risk. These may include measures such as the encryption of
electronic devices, pseudonymisation of personal data, and/or safe and secure storage
facilities for paper/electronic records.
We will destroy the data securely and confidentially after the period of retention has
elapsed. This could include the use of confidential shredding facilities or, if requested by
the individual, the return of personal records to the individual.

You can ask us not to use your information for marketing purposes. If you are a member you
